A New Level of Light Control with Hunter Douglas Duolite®
One of the biggest benefits that blinds, shutters, and shades can provide is light control. Getting natural light is essential to your health and mental well-being, but you also need to shut the light out. Having the flexibility to do both is what you get with the Hunter Douglas Duolite® feature. Southern Window Treatments is proud to offer this and other fantastic Hunter Douglas window treatment options.
What is Duolite®?
Window treatments provide many benefits to your home. A window shade decreases the amount of energy lost through your windows, provides privacy, helps with sound dampening, and it can be a beautiful aesthetic addition to your home décor. Duolite® is a specially designed system that combines two window treatments into one. Generally, this consists of two different fabrics with differing opacities - one a light-filtering fabric and the other a room-darkening. Depending on the type of window treatment, this can be an additional roller shade that you can pull down, or it can be part of a stacked shade system that you can open in two directions. Either way, a Duolite® shade offers a superior level of light control and view-through.
Window Treatment Options
Duolite® is available on several of our Hunter Douglas window treatments. Each different option has its own design elements and benefits including:
These simple and efficient window treatments are known for their clean lines and easy operation. With Duolite®, you get the benefit of two fabrics integrated into a single roller shade. You can also customize designer Roller Shades with top and bottom treatments to create a lovely uniform look.
Silhouette® window shadings combine s-shaped vanes with two sheers to create filtered light with angled control. With the addition of Duolite®, an independently operated roller shade is added to provide further control and allow for some privacy when the vanes are open.
These stunning shades feature soft luxurious fabric folds and no exposed rear cords. The available fabric selection is vast, providing ample color, pattern, and opacity options. The addition of Duolite® adds a room-darkening back panel that you can independently operate. This unique design is much thinner than traditional dual roller systems. This makes it an excellent choice for more shallow windows.
This honeycomb cellular shade is best known for its incredible energy efficiency. With the added Duolite® feature, two shades are essentially stacked on top of each other. This allows you to choose either the light-filtering or room darkening shade or a split combination of the two. Combine this with top-down/bottom-up operation, and you have a truly versatile window treatment.
